The purpose of International Commission (IC) is to share the redeeming love of Jesus Christ with the unbelieving world to make disciples.
- IC enlists churches to send out teams to work in evangelism and discipleship with Baptist churches worldwide.
- IC helps prepare the sending churches and hosting churches for the project.
- IC developes materials for preparation, for evangelism and for follow-up.
- IC equips believers worldwide to carry out projects within their own country.
You and your church will go at the invitation of a Baptist Church to work with them in a week of evangelistic outreach and discipleship. IC’s God given vision is to conduct church-based projects that result in Baptist churches helping other Baptist churches around the world to evangelize their cities and communities with the Gospel and to teach the new believers how to be fully committed followers of Christ. Years of careful preparation and success have paved the way for tremendous cooperation from churches around the world.
In 1994, International Commission and the International Mission Board (IMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention entered into a covenant agreement of mutual support and strength as we work together to fulfill Christ’s Great Commission. The participation in mission planning, strategizing, and help from missionaries on the field are evidence of this spirit of cooperation. IC does not receive any funding from the IMB or Southern Baptist Convention.
