Coronavirus Travel Concerns » International Commission

International Commission is continuing to monitor all channels of communication relating to the current Coronavirus outbreak, originating in China, but now emerging in other parts of the world.  Obviously we are concerned always with the safety of everyone involved with our ministry—both US participants and international partners in ministry—and will err on the side of caution.

As everyone is aware, on a global scale, this health crisis has still not directly impacted massive numbers of people.  But we are, of course, concerned for each and every person and family affected.  Any situation that would present a potentially unsafe and, therefore, unwise environment—either in transit or on the ground—will largely determine our actions.  Any actual suspension of airline routes may cause disruptions for a period of time, and our mobilization office is in touch with the airlines and our primary source for scheduling flights throughout each day.

We have had to cancel the travel for one upcoming project in Asia for participants from the US because of route suspensions by the airlines.  Those decisions are, by necessity, being made as close to the project date as possible because of the fluctuating nature of this situation, and our desire to proceed with the partnership ministry that has been planned for months.  To date, we have had no travel cancellations beyond this one project, nor have we had any upcoming projects closed because of health concerns within the nations where the projects are occurring.

As stated earlier, we will be monitoring all the information available to us constantly.  We appreciate each of you who answer the call to go.  We do ask that you join with us in prayer that the enemy will be thwarted in his attempt to disrupt any further ministry opportunities.  We already know who wins!
