What You’re Supporting

International Commission Headquarters

The international headquarters of International Headquarters has been in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for many years now. As you’ll see in this fun time-lapse video, several staff call this building home for a majority of their work week.

Whether we’re meeting to strategize, sending emails, making phone calls, or checking in on each other, having a comfortable and functional building helps us accomplish our tasks with joy.

When you participate in giving to join the 1972 Society, you’re helping fund maintenance and care for the building. But, perhaps more importantly, you’re also helping those of us who work here to do our work with excellence, focus, and plenty of coffee.

Our Printers

Why feature a machine? What relevance does a printer have to the work of missions?

Our printers are actually some of our more valued contributors, as they are responsible for printing the materials for each project. In preparation for our international projects, every trip participant will write out their testimony.

This is then translated into the language of the project location and several copies are printed along with questions intended to help someone respond to the gospel message shared along with that testimony.

One of our printers, the Riso Reprography, is the masterful machine that prints these forms that each participant takes with them, along with other training and discipleship resources we send to churches everywhere.

It is therefore an incredibly valuable part of our team!

Our recently retired printer, Clarence Myers, once shared that he considered his job to be one of the best at IC.

Why, people would ask? Because as he printed testimonies, he was thinking and praying for all the people who would hear/read these testimonies, asking God to save them from their sins to new life in Christ.

Clarence had the right perspective; from the president to the printers (both human and machine), every part of what we do is important.

These printers aren’t perfect, though. Like any machines, they require maintenance and repair, sometimes more than we’d like!

When you participate in giving to join the 1972 Society, you’re helping keep these valuable machines working, printing valuable and transformative resources we use on all of our projects.

Just a machine? Yes, but one working for the glory of God!

About the
1972 Society?

Contact us and we can tell you more about us and this great opportunity.

  • Kathy Allums

    Ministry Associate

Kathy serves as a Ministry Associate in our office, and is the first voice you hear when you contact our office. She is ready to assist you in any way she can. She is also an assistant to several of her fellow staff members. Joining us in April 2019, Kathy is the most recently added member of our staff Kathy said, “I am overwhelmed and beyond blessed to be a part of International Commission. God’s timing is always perfect.”

In the past, she went on a six-week medical mission, to Nicaragua, giving inoculations specific to children to prevent childhood diseases. While there, she met many missionaries building churches which opened her eyes and heart further to Jesus Christ. Kathy enjoys writing, speaking, being creative and visiting with family and friends. Kathy has been a tremendous addition to staff and is already having an impact on the ministry operations of the organization. We praise God for her!

  • Cole Armerding

    Development Strategist

Cole works to raise funds, connecting with donors and trying to find new avenues to support the various ministries of International Commission. He loves working for an organization so singularly committed to missions and evangelism, especially one that works hard to equip churches overseas to do the work themselves. He loves being a dad to two young girls, and when he’s not spending time with them you could find him watching sports of all kinds, reading, or watching a great movie. Cole also loves to travel, and when he can’t, eating ethnic foods from all over the world (especially Thai food). His favorite missions quote is from Carl FH Henry: “The gospel is only good news if it gets there in time.” Cole is honored to be a part of what God is doing at International Commission!

  • Aletha Berryman

    Executive Assistant

Aletha serves as the administrative assistant in the office, entering gifts that come through the mail and online to our records and recognizing those gifts to donors. She has been at International Commission for 12 years, and loves being a small part of God’s Kingdom work. She has been to two countries – Mexico and Nicaragua – and enjoys reading and rooting for the Texas Rangers baseball team. If she could be any animal, she’d choose a lion so that she could rule the Serengeti! Her hope for International Commission is that we will continue taking the gospel around the world until Jesus returns. Her favorite missions quote is from Miguel Nunez: “The Great Commission says to make disciples, not get followers. There is a difference.” Aletha is a steady, encouraging, and valued part of our staff who provides invaluable work to all of our teams. She is a gift to International Commission!

  • Alli Braun

    Director of Special Projects

Alli joined in the start of 2019, helping to get the word out about International Commission through marketing and events. She comes to us from Liberty University, where she worked as an Event Coordinator and Recruiter in the admissions office. Alli has done a bunch of traveling – 28 countries and 45 states – and is excited to be a part of what God is doing around the world by working with International Commission. When she’s not avoiding eating meat (seriously, no meat for 7 years), you might find her eating carrots and hummus, going for a long run, or cranking “Party in the USA” to sing along. If you know Alli for any period of time, she will recommend that you read Dale Carengie’s classic “How to Win Friends and Influence People.” Alli is already an incredible blessing to the team, and is just getting started!

  • Brent Edwards

    President

Brent began his service as president of International Commission in December 2017, having previously held the titles of VP for Development/Ministry Relations, and nearly a year as interim president. In his role as President, Brent is responsible for providing strategic leadership, setting long-term direction, overseeing day-to-day execution, and achieving goals set by the Governance Board. Charged with overall managerial, operational, and administrative responsibilities for the worldwide ministry, its staff, and volunteers, he is quick to acknowledge the cooperative effort required to accomplish such a task.

Brent’s background in partner development, international ministry, and local church ministry was the perfect preparation for his current position. Engaging, equipping, and enabling constituents in the US and in nations around the globe to fulfill their own call through truly Great Commission evangelism is the classic “dream role” from Brent’s perspective.

  • Bucky Elliott

    Media Director

If you ask someone else at International Commission what Bucky does, it may take them a minute to pull together a list. He does a lot! Bucky helps our team to utilize creative media and technology to expand our reach and influence for mobilization and fundraising. His favorite part of working for International Commission is interacting with Christians we partner with overseas and seeing their enthusiasm and genuine faith. As a father of 5, he doesn’t have time for many hobbies, but does enjoy reading and watching great movies like The Empire Strikes Back, The Lion King, and Raiders of the Lost Ark. He’s a huge Nashville Predators fan, has visited 22 countries, and is actually credited in the extended edition of The Fellowship of the Ring. His favorite missions quote is from Hudson Taylor: “The Great Commission is not an option to be considered; it is a command to be obeyed.” Bucky does so much for International Commission that it’s hard to imagine how we’d function without him, and he does it all with joyful dependence on the Lord.

  • Gary Godkin

    VP of Mobilization

Jesus said, “Come follow me and I will send you out to fish for people.” Gary loves sharing Jesus cross-culturally! He believes it is a pleasure to lead teams and fish for men, women, boys, and girls with Jesus around the world. Gary now leads our mobilization team as they recruit and take their teams on mission for International Commission. He has been working with the organization for 8 years now and enjoys meeting and sharing with new people. Gary pastored churches in Texas for over 10 years and now he enjoys leading multiple trips for us as well as leading the mobilization coordinators.

If you spend any time with him, you will know that Gary loves Jesus and his Red Raiders! He has degrees from Texas Tech University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Gary has a contagious joy that clearly comes from his relationship with Jesus, and we are so thankful for his role here at IC!

  • Denis Hammit

V.P. of Area Strategy Team (Western Europe)

Denis coordinates with church leaders and pastors in Western Europe and encourages them to participate with us by hosting an international project or conducting a National-to-National (N2N) project. He hopes that more churches in the US will find out about International Commission and want to join in the awesome work God is doing here. He is a loyal fan of Texas A&M and the Houston Astros, and also enjoys playing the drums and doing outdoor activities like fishing. He loves reading anything by Randy Alcorn and would want Jim Caviezal to play him in a movie about his life. Denis still has the passion and energy he had as a younger man, and that energy is an encouragement and blessing to everyone at International Commission!

  • J.T. Hilyer

    Mobilization Coordinator

J.T. recruits, prepares, and takes teams on projects around the world. He loves working with International Commission and being a part of God’s saving work around the world, and hopes to work with International Commission developing new strategies to accomplish this task. Unlike most people, J.T. enjoys airports and 25 countries visited is not quite enough for him. He loves music, orange creamsicle ice cream, and rooting for the Braves, the Red Sox, and Alabama. If he could be an animal, he’d choose a capybara (which is basically a 100 lb guinea pig). His favorite missions quote is “Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.” J.T. brings a lot of fun to our staff, and his passion for lost is evident in all that he does.

  • Laura Meloti

    V.P. of Area Strategy Team

Laura has been with International Commission for 12 years and served in many roles, but now works as the V.P. for the Area Strategy Team. She leads this team as they work with our international partners around the world who coordinate our projects. She loves being a part of a ministry with a singular focus on evangelism. Laura puts the “international” in International Commission – she hails from Brazil, speaks three languages fluently, and enjoys international competitions like the Olympics and the World Cup as opposed to rooting for a team here. She loves pecan caramel ice cream and singing ABBA songs loudly in the car. Her favorite movies are “Young Messiah” and “A Case for Christ.” Laura’s impact here is truly tremendous and hard to measure fully. Her passion for our work inspires all of us to do better for the glory of our King!

  • Ricky Pauly

    VP of Operations

Rick joined International Commission in January, 2011. In his role as VP of Operations, Rick oversees daily operations to include Finance, Human Resources, Administration, and Building operations. Rick’s background for many years in middle management, business ownership, and treasurer of a church has given him the tools needed to execute the duties of his position. Being involved in Great Commission work has always been a compelling desire for him and he is humbled to be able to do this as a full time ministry position.

  • Russell Raybourn

    Printer

Russell joined International Commission at the start of 2019 as our part-time printer. Working in cooperation with “the Sharp” and our Riso Reprography machine, he prepares brochures and testimony sheets, then assembles and mails participant packages. He loves being even a small part of what we do even though he cannot go. When he’s not working with model railroads, target shooting, or handling a bow and arrow, you might find him reading and enjoying a bowl of coffee ice cream. Russell would like Burt Reynolds or Clint Eastwood to play him if they make a movie about his life. International Commission would not function without Russell’s hard, dedicated work on our printed materials.

  • Debbie Repka

    Development Coordinator

Debbie coordinates and organizes our Celebration dinners and helps out with other development projects and initiatives. Her hope is that International Commission’s ministry will grow in number and in reach, eventually having projects in every country. She enjoys vanilla ice cream, rooting for the Oklahoma City Thunder, painting furniture, travel, and reading mystery novels like Agatha Christie. If she could be any animal, she’d be a giraffe so that she could be tall. Her favorite missions quote is from John Wesley: “You have one business on earth – to save souls.” Debbie is a model of quiet faithfulness and diligence in our office, and her steady work is a blessing to everyone at International Commissionn.

  • Jill Vande Zande

    Administrative Assistant, Mobilization

Jill works closely with project coordinators and participants to make sure they have everything they need before they go. She calls her job “part problem-solving, part teaching, part-detail execution, and all ministry,” and loves to work on something that has eternal value. She hopes to see more decisions for Christ, deeper disciples, and a global impact for the glory of God as a result of International Commission’s ministry in the years to come.

True to her Dutch heritage, her favorite ice cream flavor is Blue Moon because of its almond flavoring. She enjoys reading, cooking, watching a thought-provoking movie, or discussing theology. Her favorite nickname is one given to her by people she encountered in Kenya: “Gababtu” meaning “short , little one.” Though she might be short in stature, Jill is a giant addition to the headquarters staff, and is an example to everyone she works with of diligent and dedicated service to God through her work.

  • Alex Wascomb

    Director of IT

Alex started in 2019, and works hard to make sure that technology is a productive addition to our work rather than a hindrance. He loves working at International Commission because, unlike many IT professionals, he gets to see the fruit of his labor in the lives of many around the world through International Commission’s method of evangelism, which is “as old as Paul and as effective as Billy Graham.” Alex hasn’t traveled outside the US yet, but he hopes to soon. The Alabama Crimson Tide have his sports allegiance, but he also finds time for DIY home improvement projects. If trapped on a desert island with only three books, Alex would print off every Wikipedia page and bind it for one, then bring guides on survival and wood ship construction. As you can tell from that last answer, Alex is both smart and good-humored, and his work helps all of us be better.
