From the IC Board Chair » International Commission

Many people make New Year’s resolutions for the upcoming year. Most resolutions involve change of some sort – spend more time in the Word, lose weight, take more time to share Christ.

And, when changes occur sometimes they are anticipated while others are unexpected.

This year International Commission is in the latter group. Let me explain.

Three years ago, with great excitement, Dr. Randy Adkisson accepted the Board’s call to become the president of International Commission after Rodney Cavett announced his retirement.

Randy has always expressed that he believes strongly in the mission and the potential of the ministry — delighting in the stories of changed lives, both past and present. He has provided great leadership during the transition from Rodney and our founders, the Mieth family. And I know he looked forward to being a part of God’s mission at IC going into the future.

However, on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 Randy contacted me and shared that he believed the door for his effective service to you and International Commission had come to an end.

And, even though he enjoyed the support of our Board and of you, he believes that the season of his leadership to secure IC’s mission for the future has come to an end and that the Lord has another place of ministry service for him.

Randy shared that it is his prayer to hear of great successes in the future for the ministry of IC.  And, he is right!

While I’m saddened by Randy’s departure, I believe that God is going to use him in the days ahead. For IC I believe 2017 may be one of the most fruitful years of ministry!

The vision of IC has not changed — Equipping and enabling believers worldwide to conduct church-based partnership evangelism projects to reach unbelievers and make disciples.

In fact, already during the first quarter of this year there are 55 National-to-National (N2N) projects planned that may result in well over 100,000 people saved!

And throughout the year 225 additional N2Ns are scheduled that can result in over 272,000 more decisions. In addition, this year there are 34 US projects scheduled with one actually being conducted right now in Chile!

Your partnership and participation are very important to us. We know that God has just the right person for this next season in the life and ministry of IC. We ask for your prayers as the IC Board begins its search for our new president.

On Mission for our Lord,

 Rev. Mark Rindels
